Fall “Refresh And Renew” Session for Returning Teachers

Lauren Lang has announced the topic for our “Refresh and Renew” session scheduled for 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 9 at Graham Road United Methodist Church located in the Vine Church:

Creating A Balance of Activities”

Effective ESOL teachers create a balance between activities focused on gaining accuracy in pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency-oriented activities focusing on meaning within the dynamic context of interactive communication.  We will explore specific techniques along the continuum, and the similarities and differences of the teacher role in accuracy vs. fluency activities.  We will also discuss effective modifications of textbook exercises to make them more interactive and engaging.

This sounds like a great chance to sharpen skills and learn how to provide new and meaningful learning opportunities for our students.  To register, please forward your contact information to the office at eslim.org.
