New Volunteer Training

A 2-part series for volunteers new to ESL & Immigrant Ministries and for veteran volunteers who need a refresher. Plan to attend both parts 1 and 2.

Part 1 ~ Saturday, August 23, 2008
8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Agenda: Communicative teaching, First class video, Lesson planning, Second language lesson, and Breakout sessions: listening, speaking


Part 2 ~ Sunday, September 7, 2008
1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Agenda: Teaching the adult learner, Cultural considerations, MI activities, ESL realities, Partner planning, Lesson planning review, and Breakout sessions: reading, writing

have been in touch with the program coordinator.

have received copies of the teaching materials you will use. Bring them with you to training.

have met your teaching partner.
